(b) ALLOWANCES AS APPLICABLE - The rates of allowances applicable to officers are as under: -
Note: In the case of allowances specific to Defence Forces, the rates of these allowances have been further enhanced by
25% as Dearness Allowance has gone up by 50%.
16. COST TO COMPANY (CTC). The CTC for a Lieutenant would be approximately Rs. 63725/- per month. This includes
Basic Pay, DA, Grade Pay, Military Service Pay, House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance. These rates are not
statutory and are subject to change.
17. PRIVILEGES. In additon to the CTC mentioned above, Army provide free Medical Facilities for Self & dependents,
Canteen facilities, Entitled Ration, Mess/Club/Sports facilities, Furnished Govt Accommodation, Car/ Housing Loan at
subsidised rate.
18. GROUP INSURANCE AND GRATUITY. The Gentleman cadets of OTA in reciept of stipend are insured for Rs. 40
lac w.e.f. 01 Apr 2011. Those who get medically boarded out of Academy on account of disability, the disability cover
provided for 100% disability will be Rs. 20 lac which is proportionately reduced upto Rs. 4 lac for 20% disability.
However, for less than 20% disability, only an ex gratia grant of Rs. 50,000/- will be paid. Disability due to alcohalism,
drug addiction and due to the deseases of pre enrolment origin will not qualify for disability benefits and ex gratia
grant. In addition, Gentleman cadet withdrawn on disciplinary ground, expelled as an undesirable or voluntarily
leaving the Academy will also not be eligible for disablity benefits and ex gratia. Subscription at the rate of
Rs. 4,000/- will have to be paid in advance on monthly basis by the Gentleman cadets in receipt of stipened and will
become members of the main Army Group Insurance Scheme as applicable to regular Army Officers. Gratuity will be
granted to the officers as per the latest rules in force.
19. LEAVE ENTITLEMENTS. On commission, officers are entitled to 60 days annual and 20 days casual leave every
year (subject to service exigencies). They are also entitled for 40% rail concession to any place and free travel (as
per extant rules) for self and family. Leave during training period will be as per the Training Policy in force.
20. SPORTS AND ADVENTURE. The Army provides facilities to pursue any sport of your liking. In addition, one can
learn and participate in adventure sports, such as river rafting, mountaineering, hot air ballooning , hang gliding,
horse riding etc.
21. STIPENED / PAY DURING TRAINING AT OTA- During the period of training the candidates will be given a stipend
or Rs. 21,000/- p.m. (Rs. 15,600/- as pay in Pay Band plus Grade Pay Rs. 5,400/-). On completion of training. Officers
are commissioned as Lt and entitled to the pay scale as given in para 15 above.
22. The final allotment of Arms/service/Corps at the time of passing out will be the sole discretion of Integrated HQ,
Min of Defence (Army) keeping in view the existing policy. No representation is tenable on this account.
23. CHANGE IN INTERVIEW DATES: (a) Request for change of SSB interview dates will not be accepted. However under most
unavoidable circumstances such a change may be considered based on the circumstances of the case. This will be an exception
rather than the rule. Requests for such change duly supported by a certificate from Government Gazetted Officer should be
sent to the Selection Centre from where the call-up letter for SSB Interview has been received and NOT to Directorate General
of Recruiting. (b) Candidates failing to intimate the reasons for not attending SSB interview on the due date, to the selection
Centre from where the call up letter was received, will not be afforded any further chance to attend SSB interview. (c) No
request for change of interview Centre will be entertained under any circumstances.
24. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
 In case the Provisional degree certificate/marksheets do not indicate clearly the maximum marks and marks obtained for
all the years, a certificate from University/College duly signed by the Controller of Exams/Principal must be enclosed stating
that “Mr/Miss .........................................................has obtained .........................................marks out of ...............................
marks as aggregate in the Degree examinations taking all the years marks into account” In such cases if this certificate is
not found enclosed, the application will he rejected. (b) Any change in your postal address after submission of applcation must
be communicated by post duly quoting your Roll No. , Name and Course opted for.
25. COMMON MISTAKES RESULTING IN REJECTION OF APPLICATIONS: (a) Photographs are not attested (b) Percentage
below 50% (c) Application incomplete in any respect and or/ without copies of requisite certificates will be rejected summarily.
Documents whatsoever submitted at a later stage will not be acted upon. No correspondence will be entertained by NCC/Rtg
Dte in this regard. (d) Variation (if any) in names and spellings as recorded In Matriculation or equivalent certificate and Graduation
certificate should be supported by an affidavit (e) Copies of certificates are not found attested. (f) Certified true copies of
Matric or equivalent certificates are not found enclosed with applications (for verification of age) No other certificate is valid
for authentication of age. (g) Application NOT received on due date. (h) Candidates who submit more than one application will
be disqualified for this course as well as from applying for commission in the Army in future, (i) Any ambiguity/erasure/unattested
cutting/ false information/concealment of information detected at any stage of selection in above certificates/ application will
result in the cancellation of the candidature.

or involved in any other case registered by the Police.
4 I undertake not to make any claim for compensation if at any stage of my selection, my ineligibility for the candidature
is detected and my candidature is cancelled as a result thereof. 5 This is the only application submitted by me of NCC Entry/
(Short Service Commission) and if any duplicate application is detected, my candidature be cancelled and I may be debarred
permanently from applying for commission in the Armed Forces.

1. Applications are invited from UNMARRIED/MARRIED male and UNMARRIED female and also from the Wards of Battle Casualities
of Army Personnel, for grant of Short Service Commission in the Indian Army.
2. VACANCIES:
(a) NCC MEN 50 (45 for Gen Category and 05 for Wards of Battle Casualties of Army only)
(b) NCC Women 04 (10% vacancies of Women are reserved for Wards of Battle Casuality of Army personnel only)
3. CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY:
(A) Nationality: A candidate must either be : (i) A citizen of India, or (ii) A subject of Bhutan, or (iii) A subject of Nepal, or (iv) a Tibetan
refugee who came over to India before the 1st of January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian
origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya. Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania,
zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India provided that a candidate belonging to
categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government
of India. Certificate of eligibility will, however, not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
(B) Candidates withdrawn on disciplinary ground from NDA, IMA, OTA or any other Service Training Academy are NOT eligible
to apply.
(C) AGE LIMIT: For NCC candidates (including wards of Battle Casualities)
 19 to 25 years (born not earlier than 02 Jan 89 and not later than 01 Jan 95).
(D) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND OTHER CRITERIA
(a) FOR NCC 'C' CERTIFICATE HOLDERS
(i) Educational Qualification: (aa) Degree of a recognised University or equivalent with aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into
account marks of all the years. (ab) Those studying in third year are also allowed to apply provided they have secured minimum 50%
aggregate marks in the first two years. Such students will need to secure overall aggregate of minimum 50% marks if selected in interview
failing which their candidature will be cancelled. The candidate must possess graduation degree at the time of joining training at OTA. The
candidates studying in the third year of graduation must pass degree examination with minimum 50% marks before the comencement of
the course and should be able to produce the degree within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training as notified from time
to time as well as stipened and pay and allowances paid, in case they fail to produce the requisite degree certificate. Candidate should
also attach certificate with their applications regarding CGPA converted to aggregate percentage of marks as per university rules
from their institutes.
(ii) Service in NCC : Should have served for minimum two academic years in the senior Division/Wing of N.C.C.
(iii) Grading: Should have obtained minimum of ‘B' Grade in ‘C’ Certificate Exam of NCC.
(b) FOR WARD OF BATTLE CASUALTIES OF ARMY PERSONNEL (i) Educational Qualification: Degree of a recognised University or
equivalent with aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years. (ii) NCC 'C' certificate not required. (iii)
Applicants under category of Wards of Battle Casualties to send their applications direct to Dte Gen of Recruiting/ Rtg-6, NCC
Entry, West Block-III, R.K. Puram, New Delhi-110066. (iv) Eligibility for wards of battle casualties and also document to be attached
alongwith the application form are as under.
(a) A letter to the effect that the parent has been killed/wounded / reported missing in action issued by MP Dte/Respective
Regimental Records and a copy of Part II Order notifying injuries and being classified as battle casualties in case of serving/
medically boarded out pers. (b) The vacancies under wards of battle casualties are available to wards (sons and daughters
including legally adopted) of battle casualties specified as (aa) Killed in action (ab) Died of wound or injuries (Other than
self-inflicted) (ac) Wounded or Injured (Other than self-inflicted). (ad) Missing. (c) Relation Certificate issued by Records / MP
Dte. (d) Last Date of Receipt of Application in Rtg Dte for Wards of battle casualities is 16 Aug 2013.
(E). PHYSICAL STANDARD: (a) HEIGHT AND WEIGHT: The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. with co-related weight and for women
candidate is 152 cms and 42 Kg. In case of candidates belonging to the North East and Hilly Areas like Gorkhas, Nepalies, Assamies
and Garhwalis, the height will relaxed by 5 cms and weight commensurate with reduced height. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep
the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms.
(b) VISUAL STANDARDS: (i) The minimum acceptable visual acuity are: Distant Vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse eye 6/18, myopia
of not more than minus 3.50 for men and 5.50 for women including astigmatism. (ii) Candidates who have under-gone or have the evidence
of having undergone Radial Keratotomy to improve the visual acuity, will be permanently rejected. Candidates aged 20 years or above
who have undergone Laser Surgery for correction of refractive error will be considered for commission in Army If they fulfill following
criteria :-
(aa) Uncomplicated stable LASIK/Excimer (PRK) laser procedure done for. Myopia or Hypermetropia, with stable refraction for a period of
six months after the procedure.
(ab) A healthy retina.
(ac) Corrected vision should be 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye, with maximum residual refraction of : ± 1.50 in any meridian for
myopia or hypermetropia.
(ad) Axial length within permissible limits.
(c) PERMANENT BODY TATOOS: Permanent body tatoos are only permitted on inner face of forearm, ie. from inside of elbow to the wrist
and on the reverse side of palm/back(dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tatoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable and
candidates will be barred from further selection. Tribes with tatoos mark on the face or body as per their existing custom and traditions will
be permitted on a case to case basis.
4. PHYSICAL FITNESS STANDARDS AT OTA: Prospective candidates are advised to exercise and keep themselves physically fit, in order
to avoid any injury due to the rigorous physical training at Officers Training Academy. In order to be able to adjust to the regime there,
candidates are advised to achieve following standard before joining the OTA, if finally selected:-
(a) Running 2.4 km in 15 minutes, (b) Push Ups-13 Nos. (c) Sit Ups-25 Nos. (d) Chin Ups 6 Nos. (e) Rope Climbing 3-4 Meters.
5. METHOD OF SELECTION: (a) All applications as per format given are to be forwarded to Rtg. Directorate (NCC Entry) through HQ
DG NCC. The NCC Units/Gp HQs will forward the applications to State Directorates who in turn will forward the same to HQ DG NCC.
(b) Thorough screening/Shortlisting of applications based on qualifications of the candidates will be carried out by the NCC Directorates
and HQ DG NCC. (c) Candidates not in receipt of call letter from any of the Selection Centres for SSB interview should presume that
either their applications have been received after due date or have been found ineligible or rejected during short- listing. No correspondence
in this regard will be entertained. Candidates after shortlisting will be detailed for SSB interview by Directorate General of Recruiting. The
decision of Headquarter DG NCC and Dte Gen Rtg in Army HQ, in the matter of Shortlisting and forwarding of applications to SSBs will
be final (d) On arrival at the Selection Centre the candidates will be administered stage-I of the two stages testing procedure. Candidates
failing in stage-I will be Sent back on the same day and those who qualify will be detained to undergo Group Tests. Psychological Tests
and Interview which will extend for a duration of 5 days. (e) Candidates recommended by SSBs will be required to go through Medical Exam.
Candidates who are found medically fit will be placed in order of merit as per the marks obtained in SSB interview amongst the recommended
candidates. Boarding and lodging during interviews at SSBs are free. Recommendation by SSB confers no right of admission to the Officers
Training Academy. The final selection will be made as per the order of merit subject to medical fitness and suitability in all other respects
and number of vacancies available. (f) The merit list of the recommended candidates will be displayed at the reception of DG Recruiting
and Indian Army website i.e. www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
6. MEDICAL EXAMINATION: Candidates recommended by the Service Selection Board will undergo medical examination by a Board of Service
Medical Officers. Women candidates recommended by Service Selection Board will undergo medical examination by a medical board of
male/female doctors/Specialists/Gynaeocologist. However, there will be a Lady Medical Officer as member of the Medical Board for female
candidates. Only those candidates will be admitted to the Academy who are declared fit by the Special Medical Board. However, the candidates
declared unfit will be intimated by the President of the Special Medical Board about procedure for request for Appeal Medical Board (AMB).
Candidates who are unfit may apply for Appeal Medical Board (AMB) to be completed within 42 days of SMB and may request for Review
Medical Board (RMB) within 1 day of completion of Appeal Medical Board. Candidates for AMB shall automatically report to the hospital
opted by them on any working day, keeping in view the time taken by postal authorities to deliver their Medical documents at the Hospital
for medical examination. No call shall be given by the opted hospital and no correspondence in this regard shall be entertained. Candidates
are advised in their own interest to appear for AMB well in time and should not wait for the last date given by the SMB. Candidates are
advised to note that Recruiting Directorate has no role to play in Appeal Medical Boards; the procedure advised by medical authorities is
strictly to be adhered to. The candidates will also be intimated that Review Medical Board (RMB) will be granted at the discretion of DGAFMS
based on the merits of the case and that RMB is not a matter of right. Candidates will only be considered medically fit on receipt of
the approved medical board proceedings from concerned medical authorities in Dte Gen Rtg.
7. In their own interest the candidates are advised to undergo a preliminary medical check-up for wax in ears, refractory error of eyes
and fungal infection of skin before reporting for the SSB interview.
8. ENTITLEMENT FOR TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE : Candidates appearing for SSB interviews for the first time for a particular type of
commission shall be entitled for AC III Tier to and fro railway fare or bus fare including reservation -Cum-Sleeper Charges within the Indian
Limits. Candidates who appear again for the same type of commission will not be entitled to travelling allowances on any subsequent
occasion.
9. Training at OTA Chennai is at Govt expenses, Duration of Training is 49 weeks training at OTA, Chennai, On successful completion
of which Candidates will be granted commission in the rank of Lt. The final allocation of Arms/ Services will be made prior to passing out
of Gentleman Cadets/Lady Cadets from OTA. Candidates will not be allowed to live with parents / guardian. Candidates must not marry
untill they complete the full training at OTA. A candidate who marries subsequent to the date of his/her application though successful at
the Service Selection Board interview or Medical Examination will not be inducted for training. A candidate if he/she marries while under
training shall be discharge and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him/her by the govt. It is also applicable to the Wards
of Battle Casualities of Army Personnel. University of Madras will award "Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic
Studies" to all cadets who successfully complete Pre-Commission Training at OTA, Chennai.
10. The final allocation of Arms/Service will be made prior to passing out gentleman cadets/Lady cadets from OTA.
11. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE : (a) Period of Probation: An officer will be on probation for a period of 6 months from
the date he/she receives his commission. If he/she is reported on within the probationary period as unsuitable to retain his/her commission,
his/her services may be terminated any time whether before or after the expiry of the probationary period. (b) Posting: Personnel granted
Short Service Commission are liable to serve anywhere in India and abroad. Tenure of Engagement: Officers will be required to serve
for ten years extendable by a further period of four years, subject to their performance having been found fit for extension of tenure
and having given option for the service. Male Officers who are willing to continue services in Army after the expiry of 10 years in Short
Service Commision may if eligible and suitable in all respects be considered for Grant of Permanent Commission in accordance with the
relevant rules. (d) Termination of Commission : An officer granted Short service commission will be liable to serve for ten years but
his Commission may be terminated at any time by the Government of India for (i) misconduct or if his/her services are found to be
unsatisfactory, or (ii) On account of medical unfitness, or (iii) if his/her services are no longer required, or (iv) if he/she fails to qualify
in any prescribed test or course, (v) An officer may on giving 3 months notice be permitted to resign his/her commission on compassionate
grounds of which the Government of India will be the sole judge. An officer who is permitted to resign his/her commission on compassionate
grounds will not be eligible for terminal gratuity.
12. RESERVE LIABILITY: SSC Officers on release before or expiry of contractual length of service will carry reserve lability to serve
the Army for five years plus two years on voluntary basis or upto the age of 37 years for women and 40 years for men whichever is
earlier.
13. HOW TO APPLY: (a) Apply on plain paper as per the format given in the advertisement, duly typed. (b) Applications should be posted
to the nearest OC, NCC Unit from where NCC ‘C’ certificate has been issued. (c) Applications of Candidates serving in the Armed Forces
duly counter-signed by Commanding Officer should be sent to the OC, NCC Unit from where NCC’ ‘C’ certificate has been issued. (d)
All NCC Units will forward the applications to DDG, NCC of the concerned State, (e) Direcrorate General of Recruiting (Rtg 6), Integrated
Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army), reserves the right to shortlist applications on the basis of grade obtained by the candidates
in NCC ‘C’ certificate examination/percentage of marks in degree examinations. (f) DDG, NCC States will process all applications and forward
them to Dte Gen NCC. Special emphasis will be laid on the following points: -
(i) Check date of birth from class X Certificate, (ii) Check Degree/Provisional degree is from a University recognised by AIU. (iii) Check
marks sheets of all years and ensure that candidate has minimum 50% marks in the aggregate for all three years and in case of third
year students 50% marks in aggregate for two years. (iv) Check NCC ‘C’ Certificate with minimum ‘B’ Grading. (g) The last date for receipt
of applications is as under:
(i) Last date for receipt of application at NCC Bn/Gp HQ 01 Aug 2013.
(ii) Last date for receipt of application at Rtg Dte from Dte Gen NCC- 01 Sep 2013.
14. Applications recieved after due date will neither be opened nor be entertained.

The Food Corporation of India (FCI), one of the largest Public Sector Undertakings, dealing with food grain supply-chain management, intends to recruit Management Trainees (General/ Depot/ Movement/ Accounts/ Technical/ Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering) for manning posts in its depots and offices spread all over the Country . Management Trainees will be absorbed as Managers in the IDA Pay scale of Rs. 16400 – 40500 after successful completion of training period of six months.

RESERVATION AND RELAXATIONS:
1. The prescribed qualifications, experience and the age limit shall be reckoned as on 01/08/2013. The maximum age limit can be relaxed by 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.
2. There will not be any upper age limit in case of departmental (FCI) employee.
3. The upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years for PWD / PH candidates, 15 years for PWD / PH candidates belonging to SC/ST and 13 yrs for PWD / PH candidates belonging to OBC.
4. The aforesaid reservation is not applicable to OBC candidates falling within the creamy layer.
5. Age is additionally relaxable by 5 years for those applicants who had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989. Any applicant intending to avail the relaxation under this category shall have to submit a certificate from the District Magistrate in Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction she/he had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this behalf by the Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir to the effect that she/he had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989.
6. The Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs) or Short-Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least five years military services as on 01st August, 2013 and have been released :-
(i) On completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from 01st August, 2013) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency; or
(ii) On account of physical disability attributable to military service or on invalidment, shall be allowed maximum relaxation of five years in the upper age limit.
SELECTION PROCESS:
The selection process will be consisting of Written Test (WT), Group Discussion (GD) and Interview for Management Trainees (MTs). WRITTEN T
PATTERN OF WRITTEN TEST:
The Written Test will comprise of -
One Paper
:
Paper-I only for the Post Code A, B
& C and
Two Papers
:
Paper-I & Paper-II for the Post Code D, E, F, G & H.
The Paper-I is common for all the posts i.e. Management Trainee (General / Depot / Movement / Accounts / Technical / Civil Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering). Candidates applying for any ONE of the Post Code D, E, F, G & H will appear in Paper-I to be followed by Paper II.

Paper-I (Duration - 90 minutes):
120 Multiple Choice Questions of General Aptitude consisting of Reasoning, Data Analysis, Computer Awareness, General Awareness, Management and Current Affairs for the post of Management Trainees (General / Depot / Movement / Accounts / Technical / Civil Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering); and
Paper-II (Duration - 90 minutes):
i. 120 Multiple Choice Questions on General Accounting and Finance for candidates applying for Management Trainee (Accounts)
OR
ii. 120 Multiple Choice Questions on Agriculture, Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Engineering & Bio Technology for candidates applying for Management Trainee (Technical)
OR
iii. 120 Multiple Choice Questions on Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering for candidates applying for Management Trainee (Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering).
The merit of Written Test, for post code A,B & C will be decided on Paper -I and for post code D or E or F or G or H the merit will be decided on Paper-I & post specific Paper-II.
The Question Paper for Written Test will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi.
Visually Handicapped (VH - B, LV) candidates with visual disabilities of 40% or above can avail the assistance of a Scribe in the Written Test. Question Papers and Answer Sheets will not be provided in Braille. Scribe shall also be provided to the candidates with Locomotor Impaired candidates having disability in both hands and arms (OH - BA & BLA). Additional time shall also be provided to the VH as well as Locomotor Impaired candidates as per extant instructions. The said assistance shall be provided subject to such request being made in the Application Form.
No attendant of VH/Cerebral Palsy candidates will be allowed inside the examination premises. Persons with visual Disability of less than forty percent will not be considered as visually handicapped persons and will not be eligible for assistance of a Scribe.
One eyed candidates and partially blind candidates who are able to read the normal Question Paper set for all the candidates with or without magnifying glass and who wish to write / indicate the answer with the help of Magnifying Glass will be allowed to use the Magnifying Glass in the Examination Hall and will not be entitled to a Scribe. Such candidates will have to bring their own magnifying glass.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION / INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Candidates can apply only in ONE ZONE either North Zone or South Zone or East Zone or West Zone or North-East Zone as per vacancies, as the examination can be held on same day. If it is found at any stage that a candidate has applied for two or more Zones his/her candidature shall be summarily cancelled. In case of multiple applications, even within a Zone the candidature shall be summarily cancelled.
2. The candidate will be considered for the opted posts in the order of his/her merit for each post within the Zone opted by him/her.
3. No other Qualification other than expressly mentioned in the Qualification Criteria would be accepted.
4. If eligible, a candidate can apply for all the three posts of Management Trainee (General/Depot/Movement) by giving an Order of Preference for each of these posts in the Application Form.

5. Candidates willing to apply for posts other than Management Trainee (General/Depot/Movement) can only apply for either Management Trainee (Accounts or Technical or Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering). Allotment of the post will be made on the Merit cum Option / Preference for post/posts given by the candidates in the Application Form. The candidate once allotted a post will cease to appear in any other posts or any wait list. However a candidate can be placed in all the waiting lists of posts applied for, subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria and Merit cum Option / Preference.
6. In case of Management Trainees, the Weightage assigned for Written Test, Group Discussion, Interview and Training are 70%, 10%, 10% and 10% respectively.
7. The Admit Card for the Written Test indicating the time and venue of examination for each candidate can be downloaded from www.fcijobsportal.com 15 days prior to the date of examination onwards. The admit card will also be sent by post 21 days prior to the date of examination. Candidates, who do not receive their Admit Cards at least one week before the date of the examination, should contact at email ID fciquery@fcijobsportal.com. Even then if the grievances are not addressed, the candidates may contact in person to respective FCI Zonal Offices with proof of all requisite documents submitted, for obtaining Admit Card. Details of deficiency / short comings, rendering the applications ineligible, if any, may also be placed on the website about two weeks before the examination. Intimation about shortlisted candidates for Group Discussion & Interview will be uploaded on website for which candidates may keep in touch through the website www.fcijobsportal.com and shall be intimated by post as well. Candidates will be called for Interview and Group Discussion in the ratio of 1:5. Based on the merit obtained in the Written Test, Interview and Group Discussion, a panel of selected candidates will be formed from amongst those found eligible. A candidate has to appear in all the phases of the recruitment process to be eligible for the selection. The candidates are advised to keep in touch through the Website.
GENERAL INFORMATION / INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Nationality: A candidate for appointment in the service of the Corporation shall be :
(i) a Citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the Ist January,1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda and United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been given by the Managing Director.
2) Candidates should indicate at the designated place in the Application Form whether they belong to one of the Minority Communities notified by Government namely, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists or Zoroastrians (Parsis).
3) All the posts carry IDA pattern pay scales and usual allowances such as fringe benefits, HRA, Leave Travel facilities etc. These scales carry DA on percentage basis. Gross emoluments would vary depending upon place of posting.
4) Management Trainee will undergo training for six months. Only stipend will be paid to them at the rate of Rs. 8500/- per month during the training period. They shall also be eligible for reimbursement of Train/Bus fare as per the rules. Daily allowance is admissible for visits to field offices and/or other offices during training. They shall not be reimbursed any lodging charges separately. They will be considered for absorption after successful completion of training and placed in regular IDA scale of pay scale of Rs.16400-40500.
5) The seniority of Management Trainees absorbed as Manager in the services of FCI will be determined by the Order of Merit in which they are finally selected for absorption after successful completion of their training period. They will be posted in the Zone against which they are selected on completion of training. The seniority of the absorbed trainees will be maintained in their respective Zones in the respective cadre from the date of their Induction. However, the period of Training as Management Trainee shall not be counted for the purpose of work experience.
6) The selected candidates for the post of Management Trainee will have to sign a bond for Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rs. One lakh only) for serving the Corporation for a minimum period of three years after completion of their training.
7) Employees of the Central/State Govt./ Public Sector Undertakings should apply Offline or Online, take a printout of filled form, attach No Objection Certificate from their employer along with other essential enclosures and send it to “Post Box No. 35, Sector-19, Noida-201301” so as to reach within the stipulated time.
8) Candidates are required to submit only ONE application irrespective of the number of posts for which option is exercised by them.
9) Option should be exercised by the candidates carefully after going through the Advertisement and keeping in view fulfilment of eligibility conditions, educational qualification etc. prescribed for the posts. OPTION ONCE EXERCISED SHALL BE FINAL AND NO CHANGE WILL BE ALLOWED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
10) Candidates are not permitted to use calculator and other electronic gadgets except as specified in the Advertisement. They should not, therefore, bring the same inside the examination premises/venue.
11) All papers in the examination will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions. Candidates must write the papers/indicate the answers in their own hand. For Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions paper, OMR Answer Sheets will be provided. OMR Answer Sheet to be filled in Black Ball Point Pen only as per instructions given in OMR Sheet. Candidates are required to mark their Name, Date of Birth, Roll Number, Application / Registration Number, and Question Booklet Number etc. correctly on the OMR Answer sheets by darkening the appropriate ovals / boxes. Candidates are also required to sign their names in running hand on the OMR Answer Sheet. Answer Sheets not bearing the Candidate’s Name, Roll Number, Signature etc. in the space meant for the purpose will not be evaluated and awarded Zero mark. If any candidate belonging to

reserved category does not write their category properly in the OMR Answer Sheet, they will be treated as belonging to UR category. OMR Answer Sheets are read by machine and, therefore, failure to comply with any of the instructions will result in award of Zero marks. Candidates in their own interest should strictly follow the Instructions given on the Question Booklet/ OMR Answer sheet. No representation regarding non-compliance of instructions will be entertained.
12) All Multiple Choice Questions carry equal 3 marks.
13) There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in all Objective Type Multiple Choice Question papers. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
14) Discrepancies in question paper should be brought to the notice in feedback@fcijobsportal.com within 15 days of holding the examination. Representation submitted thereafter will not be entertained.
15) In view of the large number of applications, scrutiny of the eligibility, category and other aspects will not be undertaken before issuing call letters for Written Test.
16) Candidates in their own interest are advised to provide their Mobile Numbers and E-mail IDs accurately, as it may be used for all future correspondence.
17) Formats prescribed for furnishing SC/ST, OBC & PWD/PH certificates are appended at Annexures A, B & C.
18) A candidate should select any one of the examination centres within the opted Zone while filling the Application Form.

19) No change in centre of examination will be allowed under any circumstances. Hence, the candidates should select the centres carefully and indicate the same correctly in their applications.
20) The Corporation reserves the right to cancel any Centre and ask the candidates of that Centre to appear from another Centre. Corporation also reserves the right to divert candidates of any Centre to some other Centre to take the examination.
21) RESOLUTION OF TIE CASES: In case of a tie in a particular post, the candidate who has scored higher marks in the Written Test will be placed above the other candidate. If the tie still persists, the candidate who has scored higher marks in the Interview will be placed above the other candidate. If the tie still persists, the procedure will be followed by Date of Birth i.e. the candidate older in age will get preference. Lastly, if the tie still persists, the tie will be resolved by referring to the alphabetical order of names i.e. a candidate whose name begins with the alphabet which comes first in the alphabetical order will get the preference.

22) Mere submission of application and fulfilling the eligibility conditions gives no right to any person for appearing in Written Test etc.
23) Qualifying in the Written Test, Group Discussion and Interview for any post without fulfilment of eligibility conditions will not confer any claim to the candidate for final selection for the post.
24) Candidates should comply with additional instructions of FCI, if any.
25) Filling up of these vacancies is subject to the outcome of any litigation affecting the recruitment process.
26) No correspondence will be entertained about the outcome of the application, at any stage.
27) All appointments will be subject to the Rules and Regulations of the Corporation in- force from time to time. Other benefits like CPF, Gratuity, Leave Travel Concessions, Leave Encashment, Medical-reimbursement, etc., shall be applicable as per the rules of the Corporation as amended from time to time.
28) After Zone-wise selection of candidates, the candidates may be posted in any State within the jurisdiction of each Zone as Category II is a Zonal cadre post. However, they are also liable to be posted anywhere in the country in the interest of the Corporation. The jurisdiction of each Zone is as follows:
NORTH ZONE: 1. Delhi Region, 2. Haryana Region, 3. Punjab Region (includes the Union Territory of Chandigarh), 4. Himachal Pradesh Region, 5. J&K Region, 6. Rajasthan Region, 7. Uttar Pradesh Region, 8. Uttarakhand Region.
SOUTH ZONE: 1. Andhra Pradesh Region (includes Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands), 2. Karnataka Region (includes Union Territory of Lakshadweep), 3. Kerala Region, 4. Tamil Nadu Region (includes Union Territory of Puducherry).
EAST ZONE: 1. Bihar Region, 2. Jharkhand Region, 3. Odisha Region, 4. West Bengal Region (includes the State of Sikkim).

29) No TA will be provided for the Written Test. However, candidates will be given 2nd class Rail fare or ordinary bus fare “to and fro” by the shortest route, subject to production of railway ticket/bus ticket for attending the Interview & Group Discussion.
30) Candidate must ensure to have fulfilled all the eligibility criteria, viz., age & qualification as on 01.08.2013. 45) Mode of Payment of Application Fee:
i) There are two modes of payment of Application Fee: 1. Bank Challan, 2. Demand Draft. Candidate can choose any mode of payment. However, Bank Challan will be the preferred mode.
1. Bank Challan: In case a candidate chooses to pay through Bank Challan, he/she has to go to the website www.fcijobsportal.com and click the link “Click to Download Bank Challan” and enter necessary details like Name, Date of Birth, Zone Applied for, Mobile Number, Amount - Rs 550 or Rs 1050 (including Bank charges of Rs 50), to generate the Bank Challan with Reference Number (which will be unique). The Bank Challan will be generated only upto 29.07.2013 (upto 1800 hrs) from the date of issue of advertisement. On the back side of the Demand Draft, candidate is required to indicate his/her name, Date of Birth, Zone and Post applied for. The required details of Demand Draft must be filled in the Application Form.
ii) FCI will not be responsible in case the candidate deposits the Fee by any other mode or in a wrong account.

1. Applications are invited from unmarried candidates who fulfill eligibility condition of Nationality as laid down by the
Government of India for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Executive and Technical Branches of the Indian
Navy under University Entry Scheme (UES), for course commencing June 2014.

(ii) Candidate must have minimum of 60%marks in overall aggregate on completion of BE/B Tech. The candidate
opting for Naval Architecture as one of the choice for the UES entrymust have 6.75 CGPAoverall grade on 10 Point
Scale. The candidate failing to meet minimum cut off percentage will not be permitted to join INA Ezhimala.
(iii) Candidates who have FAILED in PABT (Pilot Aptitude Battery Test) earlier are not eligible for the Pilot entry.
(iv) Candidates are not eligible for UES entry if they have not studied Physics, Chemistry &Mathematics at Intermediate
(10+2) level.
(v) Technical Branch candidates as mentioned above at Ser. No. (a) & (b) can also be allotted Air Technical
Specialisation andwill be appointed asAir Technical Officers by IHQMoD(Navy).

TERMS&CONDITIONSOFSERVICE
7. The selected candidates will be appointed in the rank of Sub Lieutenant on the date decided by the Integrated
Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Navy) [IHQ-MoD(N)]. The candidate will be granted Short Service commission
(SSC). They will be subject to an initial probationary period which will commence from the date of grant of the rank of
Sub Lieutenant and will terminate after two years from the date of their reporting to the INA. The Officers will be on
probation for a period of two years and till completion of their initial training (whichever is later), during which they are
liable to be discharged if their performance is unsatisfactory. During the period from date of appointment to reporting for
training, the individual will be entitled to half the basic pay of the rank, which will be payable as a lump-sum as stipend
at the time of joining INA, Ezhimala for training. The terms of SSC will be for a period of 10 yrs, extendable by a further
period of 04 years subject to service requirements and performance/ willingness of candidates. Candidates who fail to
qualify at the final graduation (aggregate 60%) will be discharged from service without any benefits.
HOWTOAPPLY
8. Candidates have to submit application online only for this entry. Receipt of multiple applications from the same
candidate will result in cancellation of candidature. The candidate applying online (e-application) can do so from
22 Jun 13. The online application registration will close on 27 Jul 13.
9. Whilst filling up the e-application, it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available to enable the
following: -
(a) Correct filling up of personal particulars, details are to be filled up as given in the Matriculation Certificate.
(b) Fields such as e-mail address, Mobile number are mandatory fields and need to be filled.

10. Filling up of e-application:- For filling up application online visit our website www.nausena-bharti.nic.in
and proceed as follows:-
(a) Click in the ‘Officer Entry’ button under the option ‘Apply Online’ on the Home page.
(b) Fill the online registration form. Tips to assist in filling up fields have been provided as you highlight
each field.
(c) Before Clicking the Submit button it should be checked whether all the details entered in the form
are correct as you will not be able to make any correction after saving the record.
(d) After submitting the form, an ‘Application Number’ will be generated by the system and displayed on
the screen. This Application Number will automatically appear on the printout of the form. If the system
does not generate the Application Number, it is an indication of non-acceptance of Application by the
system.
(e) Print a copy of this Application Form having the system generated Application Number. The copy of
this application form is to be submitted to the Campus Selection Team of Indian Navy at the time of
campus interview.
11. Obtain signature of the principal on the declaration given at the end of the application.
12. Although candidates may be eligible for more than one branch/cadre yet they have to submit only one
application and mention priority at para 2 of Application Format. If candidate has submitted Duplicate
application, his candidature will be cancelled at any stage of selection process.
SELECTIONPROCEDURE
13.The eligible candidates applying for the entry will have to appear before a Naval Campus Selection Team
for interview. The candidates qualifying the campus interview will be shortlisted for SSB interview on the
basis of his/her preference for the entry, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria for particular entry. The final
selection of Branch/Cadre will be decided by IHQ-MoD(Navy) depending on number of vacancies in particular
Branch/Cadre.
14.Short listed candidates will be called for Campus Interview at their own expense at centres as notified by
IHQ-MoD (Navy)/Command Headquarters. The screening will be conducted by a Naval Selection Team, and
candidates selected during campus interview will be called for SSB interviewat Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore
between Dec 13 to Apr 14.
(a) Conduct of SSB. Stage I test consisting of Officer Intelligence Rating(OIR) Test, Picture Perception
and Discussion test(PPDT) will be conducted on the first day. Candidate who fails to qualify in Stage I will
be routed back home on the same day. Stage II tests will comprise of Psychological testing, Group Task,
Group Discussion and Personal Interview. No compensation will be paid in case of any injury sustained
as a result of tests. The duration of SSB will be 05 days Successful candidates will thereafter undergo
Special Medical Examination for approximate duration of 05 days at nearest military hospital. Successful
candidates of Pilot & Observer entry will undergo following on qualifying SSB:-
(i) Pilot Entry. PABT (PilotAptitude Battery Test) followed byAviationMedicals.
(ii) Observer Entry. Aviation Medicals.
(b) Change of SSB centre is not permissible. Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates is to
be addressed to the Call-up Officer of the concerned SSB. Award of fresh dates, would be subject to
availability of date and batches at SSB centre.
(c) Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training in
order of All India Merit depending on the number of vacancies.
(d) Return AC 3rd rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for the entry.
TRAINING
15.The training is scheduled to commence in Jun 2014 at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala.
16.Candidates finally selected for UES, will be inducted as Officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and
undergo 22 weeks Naval Orientation Course at the INA, Ezhimala, followed by professional training in Naval
Ships and Training Establishments.
(i) Pilot Entry. Pilot candidate will begin training with Naval Orientation Course at the INA, Ezhimala,
followed byStage I and Stage II flying training at theAir ForceAcademy/Naval Establishment. On Successful
completion of Stage II training the Candidate will be awarded wings.
(ii) Observer Entry. Observer candidates will commences training with Naval Orientation Course at INA,
Ezhimala, followed by abridged SLt Tech Courses and flying training at Observer School. On successful
completion training at Observer School, the candidate will be awarded Observer Badge.
(iii) Submarine/Technical. Candidates finally selected for Submarine Specialisation, will be inducted as
officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the INA Ezhimala
followed by professional training in other Naval Training Establishments/Ships. On completion of the
training the candidates will have to pass Submarine Qualifying Board. The candidates will be entitled
for Submarine Pay and allowances upto Rs.17,500/- per month, only after qualifying the Submarine
QualifyingBoard.
DUTIESOFANEXECUTIVEOFFICER
17. As an Executive officer, you would be at the helm of affairs in ships. Executive officers are leaders of men,
strategists of modern warfare and ambassadors of our country when in foreign waters. Modern warships
are highly evolved fighting machines needing capable and decisive leaders to operate them. Executive
officer actively participate in all facets of Naval operations i.e. Air, Surface and Sub-surface operations. They
specialise in Missile and Gunnery, Anti-Submarine Warfare, Electronic Warfare and communications,
Navigations and Directions, Hydrography and NBCD.
IT Officer. On completion of training, officers would be posted onboard IN Ships & Establishments for
carrying out IT duties. The officers would be handling state-of-the-art networks and niche applications, both
in operational and administrative areas. Sufficient opportunity to handle both ‘open source applications’ and
‘proprietary tailor made software’ will be available. Your job profile would involve designing/implanting
secure and critical networks including manning of Security Operation/ Network Operation Centres. Officers
will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge technology like Unified Domain, Share Point, SAP etc while
implementing and maintaining various Navy wide applications, portals & dedicated IT Systems.
Pilot. On completion of basic flying training and on awards of wings after commission. You would have an
opportunity to fly Fixed Wing Aircraft or helicopters. This could be from an aircraft carrier, other ships decks
or from an airfield ashore. You would be flying state of art aircrafts. You actively participate in all facets of
Naval Operations, i.e. Air, Surface and Sub-surface operations. An honorable, exciting & adventurous life
awaits you as pilot in the Navy.
Observer. On completion of training, would be part of the Naval Aviation Arm. As an airborne tactician your
primary task would be to operate various state of the art equipment including Radar, Sonar, Electronic
Warfare equipment, Communications equipment and even launch airborne weapons. You will get an
opportunity to participate in all facets of Naval Operations on board Maritime Patrol aircraft and state of the art
helicopters.
DUTIESOFTECHNICALOFFICER
18.Technical officer is responsible to maintain modern ships, submarines, aircraft and weapon systems.
He also gets an opportunity to work ashore, in one of the most advanced Naval Dockyards and indigenous
production units of the Navy. Engineering students of Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Civil, Aeronautical and
Metallurgy discipline can opt for Naval Architecture Cadre. The Naval Architecture Cadre offers excellent
opportunities to keep abreast of the advancement in ship building technology. Technical Officer’s career in
Navy is interspersed with technical courses up to post graduation level in India/abroad.
Submarine/Technical. As a Submarine Technical Officer you will be responsible to run & maintain modern
submarines and its weapon systems. You would get professional satisfaction of maintaining hi-tech machines
with state-of-the-art weapon control systems, computer controlled machinery and awesome fire power. On
successful completion of the rigorous training conducted at different training establishments, you will be a
proud possessor of ‘Dolphin Badge’ and become a member of a very elite arm of the Navy.
19.Cost to Company (CTC). The CTC for a Sub Lieutenant would be approximately Rs 66,000/- to 83,000/-
permonth. This includes Basic Pay, DA, Grade pay,MilitaryService Pay, House RentAllowances and Transport
allowance. These rates are not statutory and are subject to change.
20.Privileges. Free Medical Facilities for Self & Dependents, LTC, Canteen Facilities, Entitled Ration, Mess/
Club/Sports Facilities, Furnished Govt. Accommodation & Car/Housing Loan at subsidised rate.
21.Group Insurance & Gratuity. Insurance cover of Rs. 50 lakhs (on contribution) and Gratuity will be
granted to the officer as per the latest rules in force.
22.Leave Entitlements. Officers are entitled to (subject to service exigencies) 60 days annual and 20 days
casual leave every year. Free travel for self and family as per extant rules by air/rail as per rank.
23.Adventure & Sports. The Navy provides facilities to pursue any sport of your liking. In addition, one can
learn and participate in adventure sports, such as river rafting, mountaineering, hot air ballooning, hang
gliding, wind surfing etc.
24.Physical Fitness. In Naval Academy curriculum, a lot of emphasis is laid on physical fitness. You are
therefore, advised to build up yourself by physical training, sports, running, swimming, etc. so that you meet
the training goals successfully.
